This policy explains how J Royles Designs (“I”, “me”, “my”) collects, uses and protects your personal data when you visit jroylesdesigns.co.uk or get in touch with me. I am a UK-based sole trader operating from Witney, Oxfordshire, and I am the data controller for the information described below.
Who I am
J Royles Designs (Jen Royles)
Witney, Oxfordshire, United Kingdom

What personal data I collect
- Contact details you give me directly — name, email address, phone number and any project details you send via email or the contact form.
- Website usage data — collected automatically via Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager, including pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site. This is only collected if you accept analytics cookies (see the Cookie Policy).
Why I collect it and my legal basis
| Purpose | Legal basis (UK GDPR) |
|---|---|
| Responding to your enquiry / delivering a project you've commissioned | Contract, or steps taken at your request prior to entering a contract |
| Understanding how visitors use the site (analytics) | Consent — only after you accept cookies via the banner |
| Keeping basic accounting/invoicing records | Legal obligation |
Who I share it with
I don't sell your data. It may be shared with:
- Google (Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager) — for anonymised/aggregated website analytics, only with your consent.
- My accounting/invoicing tools, where relevant to fulfilling a paid project.
- Any subcontractor I bring in on a project, but only with your prior knowledge.
I don't transfer personal data outside the UK/EEA except where a third-party tool (such as Google) processes it under its own standard contractual clauses.
How long I keep it
Enquiry and project data is kept for as long as needed to deliver the work and meet accounting obligations (typically up to 6 years for financial records), then deleted or anonymised. Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics' own retention settings.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask what data I hold about you, ask me to correct or delete it, object to or restrict how I use it, and withdraw analytics consent at any time via the Cookie Policy page. To exercise any of these, email jroylesdesigns@gmail.com. If you're not satisfied with my response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
